Closing a Group Call So People Leave With One Move

One-sentence commit, spoken. No any-last-thoughts vacuum.

“Any last thoughts?” is how a curriculum evaporates. Close is a spoken commit. The tools will not harvest for you. Supervision can watch your close later. The room needs it now. Same rule as 1:1-to-group: they leave with one move.

The Close

  1. 60 seconds — “One sentence: what you will do, by when.”
  2. Round — spoken, not typed into a void.
  3. You write — names + commits in the chat or notes.
  4. Stop — no bonus teaching.

How to Cut the Vacuum

At two minutes left, raise a hand: “Commits. One sentence.” If someone starts a new topic, “That’s next week. Your move today?”

  • Letting the last talker reopen the hour.
  • “I’ll send a recap.” Recap is not a commit.

The 3-Minute Action

Add the one-sentence round to tomorrow’s run-of-show at T-minus 5. Practice the cut line once out loud.
