Mid-August Check-Ins Before Labor Day Drift

One message that names the slump and books the next win before September goes silent.

August is when clients fade without deciding to leave. A long weekend becomes a silent September if you wait for them to re-open the thread.

The Message

“August got thin. I don’t want Labor Day to turn into a three-week gap. What’s the one win you still want before September, and which slot this week should we lock?”

Name the slump. Name a date. Do not ask “how are you?” That’s how threads die.

This is not a 90-day renewal sequence. It’s a mid-cycle tap. Keep it in the same voice as your email sequences — one job per message.

How to Send It

One email, one client, named next slot. No BCC blast. No reply in 48 hours: send once more, then release the hold.

Where Coaches Break

  • Waiting until after the holiday. The calendar is already gone.
  • Sending a newsletter instead of a named ask.
  • Checking in with the clients who are fine and skipping the quiet ones.

The 3-Minute Action

List every client with no session on the books for the next 10 days. Send the four-line message today. Book or release the slot.
